Lily of the Mohawks
1656-1680

The Ravine is an outdoor cathedral dedicated to the memory of
St. René Goupil who was the first to be martyred in Ossernenon. His body was buried somewhere in this locale by St. Isaac Jogues.
St. René Goupil was tomahawked for having made the Sign of the Cross on a young Mohawk boy.
