Martin Pelland Escuyer, major de milice ancien
cultivateur en cette paroisse, époux de Thérèse
Fagnan, décédé le dix neuf - (Quarante deuxième feuillet)
de ce mois dans la nuit, âgé d'environs
quatre vingt six ans. Présens Messieur le précé----
du lieu soussigné et Jacques, Paul, Alexis et Cuthbert
Martin Pelland ses fils qui n'ont su signer de ce requis.

The twentieth September one thousand eight hundred twenty-three by us
the undersigned priest pastor of Ste-Élisabeth was buried
in the church of this parish the body of Pierre
Martin Pelland, Esquire, Major of the Militia, former
farmer in this parish, husband of Thérèse
Fagnan, who died on the nineteenth - (Forty-second page)
of this month during the night. Present were Mister the prece (?)
of the area who signed below and Jacques, Paul, Alexis and Cuthbert
Martin Pelland his sons who did not know how to sign this certificate.
