L'an mil sept cent quatre-vingt-dix-huit, le quinze janvier, après la
publication de trois bans de promesse de mariage, faite au prône des
messes de paroisse, entre Jacques Léveillé, fils majeur de Marianne
Giguère de cette paroisse d'une part, et de Marie St-Germain, fille ma
jeure de Joseph St-Germain et de Catherine LeFort, ses père et mère aussi
de cette paroisse d'autre part, sans qu'on ait découvert aucun empêche
ment au dit mariage, je, curé missionaire de la paroisse de St-Michel
d'Yamaska, soussigné, après avoir reçu leur mutuel consentement
de mariage, leur ai donné la bénédiction nuptiale avec les cérémonies
prescrites par la Ste-Église notre mère en présence de la part de l'époux,
de Joseph Alexandre dit Laliberté, témoin, et de la part de l'épouse, de
Joseph St-Germain, son père, de Michel St-Germain, son oncle, et de
Jean-Baptiste Dupuis, témoins et de plusieurs autres parents et amis, lesquels
ont déclaré ne savoir signer ainsi que l'époux et l'épouse, de ce requis,
lecture faite

The year one thousand seven hundred ninety-eight, the fifteen January, after the
publication of the three bans of promise of marriage, given from the pulpit of the
parish masses between Jacques Léveillé, adult son of Marianne
Giguère of this parish on the one part and of Marie St-Germain, adult daughter
of Joseph St-Germain and of Catherine Lefort, her father and mother also
of this parish on the other part, without our discovering any impediment
of the aforementioned marriage, I, the undersigned missionary pastor of the parish of St-Michel
d'Yamaska, after having received their mutual consent
of mariage, have given them the nuptial blessing with the ceremonies
prescribed by the Holy Church our mother, in the pesence on the part of the groom,
of Joseph Alexandre dit Laliberté, witness and on the part of the bride, of
Joseph St-Germain, her father, of Michel St-Germain, her uncle, and of
Jean-Baptiste Dupuis, witnesses, and of many other relatives and friends, who
have declared not knowing how to sign as well as the groom and bride, as required, the reading carried out.
