Texte français:"Le sept Janvier mil huit cent cinquante sept, après la publication de trois bans de Mariage faite au prône de nos messes paroissiales entre Pierre Menard domicilié à St-George veuf majeur de feue Appolline Plante d'une part; et Marie Lussier aussi domiciliée en cette paroisse veuve majeure de Alexis Duclos, d'autre part, même publication ayant été faite à St-Georges, comme il appert par le Certificat de Messire St-Aubin curé du lieu et ne s'étant découvert aucun empêchement à ce mariage, nous prêtre soussigné, curé de cette paroisse, avons reçu le consentement mutuel des parties en présence de Benoni Menard, frère de l'époux, Bernard Menard, Emmanuel et Joseph Lussier frères de l'épouse, et plusieurs autres qui n'ont pu signer, ainsi que les époux." English Translation:
On 7 January 1857, after the publication of the three (marriage) bans made from the pulpit during the parish masses, between Pierre Menard of St. Georges (parish) adult widower of the deceased Appolinne Plante on one part; and Marie Lussier also of this parish adult widow of Alexis duclose, on the othe part, with the same publication (of the marriage bans) at St-Georges, as it is found in the Certificat of Messire St-Aubin, pastor of that place and having found no impediments to this marriage, we, the undersigned priest, pastor of this parish, have received the mutual consent of the parties in the presence of Benoni Menard, brother of the groom, Emmanuel and Joseph Lussier, brothers of the bride, and many others who could not sign, as well as the spouses.
